Rare and mint pair of French percussion dueling pistols presented as a gift from napoleon II Emperor of France as a shooting prize. Napoleonic crown with N on barrel as well as a gold presentation to naval ensign Duchet as 1st prize from the Ecole de Tir. This was the renown French shooting school closely associated with the French navy. The date is 1859. This was at the time Napoleon II sent the navy and troop detachments to Indochina for the first time. The guns are in mint condition with gold inlays, engraved furniture and beautifully carved stocks. The case is in green velvet with all correct accessories. The interior lid of the case bears the name of the French retailers Baillot & Heberard a Paris embossed in gold. The case is French walnut with brass bands and inlays with shield in lid. Wonderful royal presentation set in magnificent condition.
